Just as adventurers must be aware of the challenges ahead and train appropriately to meet them, professionals must work intentionally to achieve superior outcomes. Such preparation builds confidence and offers an edge over those who have not done the work.

Over the course of our careers, we witnessed firsthand the value of mentorship.  We watched people gradually stagnate, unaware of potential skill gaps or how to position themselves for advancement.  We coached people who were in the wrong role and needed redirection.  We saw organizations manage talent highly effectively and likewise observed instances of missed opportunities to get the most out of individuals and teams.  The common denominators among these were often a lack of awareness, preparation and strategy.‌

Talent development – including campus recruiting, training, performance evaluation and mentorship – was a meaningful element of our professional journeys.  Along the way we learned many valuable lessons that strongly inform our approach.
